Marcegaglia Carbon Steel cold-drawn tube: a controlled production chain
Marcegaglia Carbon Steel, thanks to the control of the entire cold-drawn welded tubes production process, can provide a fully controlled and certified production chain.
Coils arrive in Marcegaglia Ravenna port dock by boat and they are then transferred by train to Casalmaggiore plant, where the tubes suitable for re-drawing are produced. From here, normalized welded tubes for re-drawing, are sent to Boltiere plant, one of the largest in its sector in Europe, and to the recently acquired plant in Rivoli.
Boltiere plant produces precise cold-drawn tubes, welded and seamless, with an outside diameter from 18 to 245 mm and a wall thickness from 1.5 to 15 mm.
Marcegaglia production range includes cold-drawn tubes manufactured according to EN 10305-2 standard for the automotive sector and mechanical applications in steel grades E155, E195, E235, E275, E355, cold-drawn tubes for drive shafts and special profiles manufactured according to specific agreements are produced in a wide array of steel grades.
In the hydraulic sector Marcegaglia Carbon Steel produces cold-drawn welded tubes for ready-to-use H9 cylinders, drawn tubes for cylinders suitable for internal finishing, drawn tubes skived & roller burnished finished H8, drawn tubes for chrome-plated rods and drawn tubes for telescopic cylinders in grade E355.
The production chain of Marcegaglia Carbon Steel cold-drawn tubes is ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 certified.
In 2019 RINA awarded the Boltiere plant with “Best4 ISO 26000:2010” certification, reserved to companies certified in Quality, Environment, Safety and Social Responsibility (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BS OHSAS 18001 and ISO 26000:2010).
Marcegaglia Boltiere plant, like other companies in Marcegaglia Group, is certified ISO 50001:2011 for energy.
The integrated products offer, the use of several varieties of carbon and low-alloy steels and the manufacturing flexibility, allow Marcegaglia to satisfy every request via customised solutions and services.
